From global success in the commercial domain, to equal accomplishments within the underground scene, Dubfire is an artist whose drive, talent and intuition have placed him within the top tier of electronic music artists in the world. He maintains this position within the industry with an unrelenting work ethic and a focused determination to innovate, evolve, and entertain.
Whether it’s his solo performances at an extensive list of the world’s most influential clubs and festivals, running his label SCI+TEC, or simply his exploration of audio and visual technology, Dubfire is in a class of his own and is resolute in his forward-thinking ethos.
Born in Iran and raised in the U.S. from the age of seven, Dubfire first developed his skills playing at local clubs in Washington, D.C. He was introduced to Sharam Tayebi through a childhood friend and they formed “Deep Dish:, a production and DJ duo that conquered the world of electronic music, picking up a Grammy (and previous nominations) in the process in addition to a vast array of other awards and accolades. At the height of their success both men opted to take a step back and pursue solo careers, with the Dubfire alias allowing him to express his deep love for underground house and techno. Dubfire quickly integrated himself into the minimalistic techno scene and produced several key releases that cemented him as a true visionary and a force to be reckoned with in underground music. From ‘Ribcage’, ‘Emissions’ and ‘Roadkill’, to his work with Oliver Huntemann and his remix of ‘Spastik’ by Plastikman, Dubfire’s creations perfectly display his musical dexterity and depth of aural knowledge.
Never satisfied with the status quo, Dubfire spent two years crafting a live show and his HYBRID live concept has been wowing audiences since its soft launch debut at the Amsterdam Dance Event in 2014. Described by Thump as, “unlike anything we had previously seen or heard before anywhere,” HYBRID explores the continued convergence of man and machine, delving into the realms of science and technology and their connection with music.
Dubfire’s story is also set to be told through a documentary, titled “Above Ground Level” chronicles his career trajectory from fleeing Iran as a youngster to becoming one of the biggest electronic music stars on the planet. Featuring contributions from his closest friends and family, along with peers such as
David Guetta, Richie Hawtin, Pete Tong, and Hot Since 82, it reinforces his stellar achievements and gives an inside look into Dubfire’s journey.
With over two decades of experience in the music, Dubfire continues to push the envelope and challenge himself.

SHADED has a signature sound – a weaving combination of funky, psychedelic vibes and textures His sound is undeniable in character and is breathing new life into the techno house world.
Growing up in Newport Beach, California, he secluded himself in skating, surfing and music since a young age. His production style has constantly evolved whilst trying to stay true to his roots.
He started out as the duo SHDWPLAY in 2009, they went on to release four EPs on Dubfire’s SCI+TEC imprint, quickly becoming well-regarded staples in techno ranks around the world. This newfound recognition, coupled with the desire for creative individuality, prompted his decision to leave and to pursue his solo career as SHADED.
On SCI + TEC he has had multiple EP’s in both the techno and minimal charts in 2012 and 2013 including the hit tracks ‘’Be My Binge’’, ‘’Love Bug’’ and ‘’This Is This’’.
Since his major noted release ‘‘Dwell’’ on SCI+TEC in 2014, which reached No.1 on the Beatport minimal charts, he soon followed up with his debt release on Tiga’s Turbo imprint with ‘’She She’’, still ranked as one of the labels highest selling records of 2014.
He followed up with another release on Turbo in 2015 with ‘’Ripped Kick’’ which was named Mixmag’s ‘’Tune of the Month’’ and with this continued recognition, he has a solid remix schedule in 2015 with a debut on Octopus Recordings, with a remix of Sian’s ‘’Binary’’ and also was given the opportunity to remix for Boys Noize and Tiga with their hit track ‘’100’’.
His 2015 summer EP ‘’Electric Auto Pitch’’ on SCI+TEC catapulted into the minimal charts, with two of the tracks sitting at No.7 and No.9 shortly after the release.
February 2016 saw his “Creepy Fingers” EP on Turbo, and the remainder of the year he has numerous projects with releases on new labels, including a remix of Dubfire & Oliver Huntemanns track “Humano” on Senso in September, a debut release on UK label Kaluki Musik with a remix on Carlo Lio’s EP “iLL SHIT” and he has been booked for his third South American tour in August, followed by a 4 gig Asia tour in September, with 3 Ultra Festival dates in Singapore, Bali and Tokyo.
ROOZ
Rooz is a DJ, promoter, and major advocate of underground electronic music in San Francisco. Rooz is known for his late night trippy house and techno sets at underground warehouse parties across SF. With regular residencies and appearances at San Francisco’s house music nightclubs since 1999. You can catch Rooz opening for underground house and techno artists like Marco Carola, Loco Dice, Stacey Pullen, Dubfire, Derrick May, Derrick Carter, Matthias Tanzmann, Radio Slave … at night clubs across the US.
